Get ready for the ASH Dash 5K Bunny Run – the Volunteer Services Council's (VSC) signature event to support patient projects at the Austin State Hospital. Over the past 14 years, this annual tradition has welcomed thousands of runners, walkers, and volunteers the Saturday before Easter, raising critical funds for our programs.

When you join the ASH Dash 5K Bunny Run, your participation helps create meaningful and joyful experiences for the patients at Austin State Hospital (ASH). Festive Holiday Parties: We organize celebrations for Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter, Valentine’s Day, and more, bringing joy to patients during these special times.
Creative & Social Activities: From bingo nights and talent shows to poetry cafés and art sessions, patients get the chance to express themselves and engage in fun, creative ways.
Supervised Outings: Patients enjoy trips to places like parks, bowling alleys, and movie theaters. These outings help them build confidence, learn social skills, and enjoy new experiences.
Special Gatherings: Cookouts, birthday parties, and educational seminars give patients the opportunity to connect with others and share in joyful moments.
Support for Special Needs: Your donations also cover costs like obtaining State IDs, birth certificates, personal care items, and application fees for work or volunteer positions, which help patients transition back into society.
